Ross Witcombe

Ross is our bodywork repair technician, he is responsible for repairs and special projects on all of the carbon fibre parts on our race car. He is regularly found at the back of the garage in his composite tent filling holes in bodywork, making moulds for repair patches or even grafting two damaged bumpers together to make a new one.

He started his motorsport career in 1998 factory based with Penske cars involved in the CART championship, after that he started working with composites at G-force technologies producing cars for the Indy Racing League.

In 2001 he joined the Prost Grand Prix team in Formula 1 in their composite department. After the demise of the team he spent two years as a freelancer for various companies producing carbon parts. In 2003 he joined Sauber/BMW Sauber producing the monocoques, wings and suspension.

After five years in this role he was able to join the race team as composite technician responsible for the aerodynamic setup and parts maintenance of the race cars at the track. After 10 years with Sauber he then joined the Porsche LMP1 Team in a similar role in the World Endurance Championship attending races in 2014 and 2015 with an overall victory at the 2015 24 hours of Le Mans.

He then decided to return to the UK in 2016 competing for a season with Manor Racing in F1 and then Manor WEC in 2017 before joining Gulf Racing in 2018.
